Mission Statement

Our mission is to facilitate partnerships, equipping parents
and educators to be equal partners in the success of each child.

One of the strategic commitments of the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) is to support communication and partnerships with educational stakeholders, which include parents of preschool and school-age children. The ISBE has a priority to improve the delivery of training and technical assistance to parents and educators for the improved outcomes of each child.

The Parent & Educator Partnership (PEP)

The Parent & Educator Partnership is an Illinois Statewide Technical Assistance Center (ISTAC) of the ISBE. The PEP project advances the ISBE's priority to improve the delivery of training and technical assistance to parents of school age children and educators by developing and supporting parent leadership, and assisting Local Educational Agencies (LEA) in meeting the requirements of Title 1 Section 1118 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (formerly, No Child Left Behind).
